Edinburgh North and Leith Liberal Democrats Campaigning for a fairer Britain and a change in Edinburgh North and Leith by electing Kevin Lang |

Today is polling day - polls are open 7am-10pm12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 6th May 2009
By 10pm tonight, Edinburgh North & Leith will either have a Labour MP or a Liberal Democrat MP. No other result is possible. Edinburgh North & Leith is one of the key marginal seats in today's General Election. Pundits expect a close result between the current Labour MP and popular local Liberal Democrat campaigner Kevin Lang. At the last election, the LibDems came a close second to Labour with the Tories a distant third and the SNP an even poorer fourth. Conservative and SNP supporters had already admitted defeat in today's election in Edinburgh North & Leith with many switching to back Kevin Lang. Speaking today, Kevin said, "Today, the people of Edinburgh North & Leith have a chance to vote for real change. Labour have let us down for too long and have taken our area for granted. "I want to be a different kind of MP for our area and someone who really puts Edinburgh North & Leith first. I want to get real action to protect local jobs, cut crime and save our environment. I also want to help do my bit to rebuild trust in politics that has been so badly damaged over the last year." Polls are open until 10pm tonight and you do not need your polling card to vote. Don't leave voting to someone else - they might be leaving it to you!
